Christy and Javier are accomplished flutists with extensive experience as performers and educators. While we're new to Las Vegas, we bring a lifelong passion for the flute and a deep commitment to helping students grow.
In our studio, you’ll build a strong foundation in technique and musicianship. You’ll also explore the rich classical repertoire of the flute - and if you're curious about other musical styles, we’re excited to guide you there too!

About us
Javier Montilla
A native of Venezuela, Javier has been involved with music since an early age. He began to play the flute in the world-renowned music project "El Sistema", in which he gained important experience in some of their youth symphony orchestras. Later, he was a member of the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra and pursued a Bachelor of music in flute performance at the IUDEM, in Caracas. Javier continued his flute studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he obtained his Master and Doctorate degrees in Flute Performance, respectively.
He also has developed a career as a performer of Venezuela's traditional and Latin American music, as reflected in his recordings and recitals with established ensembles and as a guest performer. In Seattle, Javier played with The Agermos CMP, The Mochima Ensemble, and Sabroson. He also founded Montilla Brothers, a music publishing house. Currently, he resides in Hayward, California (Bay Area) and plays with the "Projeto Novo SF" in San Francisco".
Christy Camba
Christy is a Venezuelan flutist who began her musical journey early and trained through the renowned Venezuelan System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs. She studied at the “Simón Bolívar” Conservatory and earned her bachelor’s in flute performance at the National Experimental University of the Arts, where her thesis on Reinecke’s flute concerto earned a Publication Mention. She has taken masterclasses with renowned international flutists and spent seven years with the Caracas Symphony Orchestra, performing in prestigious venues across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
A versatile musician, Christy has played as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral flutist under acclaimed conductors. She has also taught extensively in Venezuela, was part of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, and later joined the Iowa City Flute Choir. Currently, she teaches in the Oakland Unified School District and leads woodwind workshops for young musicians.
